We're looking for individuals willing to serve in a volunteer capacity on the Central Committee for Capital City Pride, to listen to community input and make decisions that are in the best interest of the greater Des Moines community. All positions are currently open for election.
We ask that you consider serving Capital City Pride in this capacity.
Some basic qualifications that are helpful, but not required:
COMPUTER...
The team is all over the Des Moines area, so access to a computer and the Internet are vital in order to meet and communicate among the committee.
COMMUNICATION...
The ability to communicate effectively is always an asset.
COMMITMENT...
The ability to work independently to meet deadlines is vital. Staying on schedule, on task, and responding quickly to correspondence is a needed skill. Being able to alter personal time to respond to short deadlines is also helpful.
Capital City Pride KNOWLEDGE...
An understanding of Capital City Pride structure, bylaws, core values, and beliefs is needed. Also desired is an understanding of the LGBT movement itself. Additional knowledge of parliamentary procedure is helpful. Please click here to download the bylaws and structure of Capital City Pride.
A PLUS...
Experience in developing resources and workshops, as well as project development skills and management skills are all added qualities. Having served on councils and committees, whether at volunteer events or on the job is a plus.

We are asking to collect the names and information needed prior to the election on November 6, 2008. Elections will be held from 6:30pm-8pm at the downtown library, conference room #1 (11/06/2008).
