Is YOUR organization represented at Capital City Pride Meetings?

Is your organization represented at Capital City Pride Meetings? If it is not, we encourage you to come to our next meeting this Thursday at 6:30 PM at the AIDS Project.

We have liaisons from different organizations and sponsors that come to our meetings to let us know what's going on with their group and to pass along important information about Capital City Pride - Des Moines. If you're group is not there it may not be represented properly.

Capital City Pride is a reflection of those who attend and participate in it's meetings. I'd encourage a liaison from your supportive organization to join our meetings (first Thursday's 6:30pm at the AIDS Project). Please RSVP at info@capitalcitypride.org

Thank you and remember Capital City Pride is a volunteer organization, made up of volunteers to promote acceptance, tolerance, and understanding of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community through education, programming, and visibility.

Have you seen MILK?

Join the Rainbow Union at the Parents Hall in Upper Olmsted for a showing of Milk!

Below is the plot summary from MILK, in case you don't know what it's about:

Using flashbacks from a statement recorded late in life and archival footage for atmosphere, this film traces Harvey Milk's career from his 40th birthday to his death. He leaves the closet and New York, opens a camera shop that becomes the salon for San Francisco's growing gay community, and organizes gays' purchasing power to build political alliances. He runs for office with lover Scott Smith as his campaign manager. Victory finally comes on the same day Dan White wins in the city's conservative district. The rest of the film sketches Milk's relationship with White and the 1978 fight against a statewide initiative to bar gays and their supporters from public school jobs.

Join the Rainbow Union at the Parents Hall in Upper Olmsted for a showing of Milk!
Admission is FREE!!!
