PHOTOS AND THOUGHTS WANTED FOR PRIDE GUIDE

PHOTOS AND THOUGHTS WANTED FOR PRIDE GUIDE:

CCP would like to include your thoughts and photos in the 2009 PrideGuide! We are especially interested in any photos taken on April 3, the day the ruling for marriage equality was announced. Any photos are welcome, but shots taken of celebrations around the courthouse, capitol building, and at the downtown rally or elsewhere would be great. Also, even if you don't have photos to send, email us some brief thoughts about that day!

Photos should be as high resolution as possible. Thoughts can be as short or as long as you want, but we may edit for space. Please include your name, address, and phone number with your submissions, and the names of anyone in the photos you know (we won't name any names, but may need to ask permissions before publishing). Also, CCP can't guarantee inclusion of any or all of the photos or the thoughts submitted in this year's guide, but you never know! Thank you for your in-kind donation!

Please send photos and thoughts to: guide@capitalcitypride.org

AIDS Walk/Run - Two Weeks Away!

Dear Friends of the Project,

Spring is here, and the AIDS Project of Central Iowa's AIDS Walk/Run is
two weeks away! We have had amazing success with this event in the
past eight years and we are once again looking to our supporters for
your involvement. We invite you to join us on Saturday, April 18th at
Des Moines University, 3440 Grand Ave. Both the walk and run start at
10:00 am. Participants have the choice of entering the 5K run or the
one-mile walk. Remember to register early to ensure an event shirt in
your size.

The success of the Walk/Run directly affects the Project's mission of
assisting people living with HIV to achieve the highest quality of
life available and preventing future infections in our community. We
encourage participants to collect contributions from family, friends,
co-workers and neighbors. The involvement of the community is critical
to the success of the Project's mission. You can register, as well as
make donations, with the enclosed entry form or at our website:
www.aidsprojectci.org

See our website for more information, or call us at (515)284-0245.

See you at the finish line!

Same-sex Marriage is allowed!!!!!

Pledge to attend your local rally! Sign up here: http://www.oneiowa.org/web/newsEvents/2009/03/history-in-iowa-will-you-be-there/

Breaking: Tomorrow is the Day!

Breaking: Tomorrow is the Day!
We need every voice, every body!

In less than 24 hours, the Iowa Supreme Court will decide whether committed gay and lesbian couples will win the freedom to marry in Iowa! I know you are a supporter of marriage equality and I need two things from you right now!

First, pledge to attend your local rally! Sign up here: http://www.oneiowa.org/web/newsEvents/2009/03/history-in-iowa-will-you-be-there/

We’re hopeful to gather tomorrow evening in celebration of a historic ruling that will ensure that all Iowa families are treated fairly. Win, lose, or draw, our community and allies must come together to share in this historic moment and prepare for what lies ahead. Can we count on you to be there?

Second, I need you hit forward on this message and ask EVERYONE in your contact list to join you in making history! With so little time to prepare, we need YOU to spread the word quickly, so pick up your phone, send out a mass text, or donate your facebook status or tweet for the cause! Here’s a simple text message you can use: “Iowa Supreme Court rules on same-sex marriage FRIDAY. Find rally locations at oneiowa.org and help me make history!”

Rally times and locations will be posted online at oneiowa.org later this afternoon and we’ll follow up with an email. Please check back for more details!

This is your moment Iowa! Let’s stand as ONE!

- Carolyn Jenison

Executive Director, One Iowa
